Everything changes for the Parata family.
Home and Away’s Ari Parata decides to sacrifice his own future in dramatic scenes on UK screens next week.
Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) makes a difficult choice when he finds out that his partner Mia Anderson and her daughter Chloe have found themselves in serious trouble.
Upcoming scenes on Channel 5 see Chloe (Sam Barrett) hit her father Matthew Montgomery over the head with a brick when he violently grabs Mia in a terrifying showdown outside the Parata house.
When Mia realises that the blow to the head has killed Matthew (James Sweeny), she puts his body into the boot of the family car and drives off with it, hoping to cover up the crime.
Mia’s (Anna Samson) efforts backfire when policeman Cash Newman spots her behaving erratically, which leads to a high-speed chase.
Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) calls for back-up and the other police vehicles manage to block Mia’s escape.
When Mia is forced to stop, she finally faces Cash and he’s stunned to see that she’s the troublesome driver.
All becomes clear to Cash when he checks the boot and finds Matthew’s body inside.
Mia refuses to answer any questions over what has happened, so Cash is forced to arrest her on suspicion of murder.
Later, Ari arrives at the station just as Mia is being quizzed.
Cash is sympathetic towards Ari’s situation and reluctantly allows him to spend a few minutes speaking with Mia, before the interrogation continues.
Ari is adamant that Mia and Chloe can’t go down for Matthew’s murder, so he asks to speak to Cash in private.
Ari promises to tell the police exactly who murdered Matthew if they promise to let Mia go.
Shortly afterwards, Cash surprises Mia by revealing that she’s free to leave.
It turns out that Ari has made a false confession to the crime, prepared to go back to prison if it means keeping Mia and Chloe safe.
Mia is distraught and insists that she can’t let Ari take the fall for her and Chloe. However, there’s no convincing Ari to change his mind and he’s taken into custody.
