Emmerdale stars reveal how bad weather has disrupted filming

There’s no time for snow days in the village.

Emmerdale stars Kevin Mathurin and Rebecca Sarker have revealed that the unpredictable weather this week has made filming the soap a lot more difficult.

The past week has seen a number of storms hit the UK, with wind and rain causing havoc and some areas of the country also experiencing snowfall.

Kevin and Rebecca, who play Charles Anderson and Manpreet Sharma in the soap, have been attempting to film scenes together over the past few days – but it seems that the weather has had other ideas, as the actors have kept their Instagram followers updated with the difficulties that they’ve been facing.

Rebecca shared a video on her Instagram Story which saw her standing in the village surrounded by snow, with the words “Village life @emmerdale snow on me” written across it.

She later shared another photo of the snow, which she captioned: “End of a long week filming. Have a good weekend guys,” while she captioned a selfie with Kevin, which suggested they hadn’t been able to film, “Snow stopped play today with @kevin_mathurin_official.”

Kevin also shared a selfie of himself and Rebecca wrapped up warm outside while covered in snow, captioning it: “Filming on a Saturday? Mother Nature had other plans.”

Rebecca made a reference to Kevin’s character’s occupation as a vicar when she commented on the upload: “Man makes plans and God laughs…,” to which Kevin replied: “perfect”.

Their co-star Ash Palmisciano, who plays Matty Barton, called the pair “Hero’s [sic]” for their efforts while braving the elements, while Dawn Taylor star Olivia Bromley sent them a heart emoji in support.

The actors have been involved in a major storyline on screen recently, with Manpreet’s sister Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) finally having her serial killer crimes exposed.

Manpreet almost lost her own life when Meena kidnapped and drugged her and kept her locked up in a barn, before Charles accidentally hit Manpreet with his car after she made her escape.

While Manpreet is now recovering, the Meena story isn’t over yet, as she continues to try to lie her way out of trouble after being caught by police following her reign of terror over the village.
