Emmerdale star Samantha Giles says Meena storyline should end soon

Emmerdale star Samantha Giles believes it’s time for the Meena Jutla saga to end.

Played to twisted perfection by Paige Sandhu, Meena has spent close to a year terrorising the Yorkshire Dales village, racking up three murder victims in total.

Giles, who plays Bernice Blackstock, addressed the villain’s ongoing storyline during her appearance on the Wonderbirds YouTube show recently.

“That’s about to come to a head… I think it is,” she said. “It’s terrible, I’m in the show and I don’t really ever watch it, which is awful.

“You know what it’s like, it’s that time when you’re either putting the kids to bed or you’re getting dinner or whatever, but I know that it’s very close to coming to a head.

“I think it’s probably timely – lots of people have said that they’ve enjoyed it, but you know, come on, it’s time for it to end.”

The killer left vicar Charles Anderson gobsmacked in Monday’s (February 28) episode, as she confessed to bumping off his girlfriend Andrea Tate.

Sandhu herself was asked by if her character was afraid to die.

“I don’t think that she is,” she replied. “Meena is so confident and arrogant that she believes no one would ever be able to get the better of her. Psychopaths are incapable of feeling fear.

“It would be more exciting than anything else – there’s a line in Peter Pan I always think about where he says: ‘I think to die would be an awfully great adventure.’ I think Meena would feel the same thing, it would be an inappropriate reaction to death.”
