EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley responds to Zack Morris’ exit from the soap

The Keegan actor will be leaving later this year.

EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley has responded to the news that Zack Morris is exiting the soap.

The Keegan Butcher-Baker actor’s departure from the soap was confirmed at the end of last week, and seeing as Lorraine plays Keegan’s mum Karen Taylor, it’s only right she writes a really motherly support post on Instagram.

Sharing a series of photos of herself giving Zack a hug, Lorraine wrote: “Well it’s been an absolute honour to play your Mum @_zack_morris you are a little gem!!

“[Your] passion and commitment to the craft is just so impressive! I’ve laughed so much working with you & the whole Taylor/Baker famalam, memories I will cherish forever!

“You are sooooo Talented, you’re generous, kind, professional, real, the list goes on… Go shine like the star you are. I love you Son!! (Mummy 2) xxxxx.”

Zack commented on the post as well, writing: “This brought a tear to my eye and warmed my heart at the same time. Love you too Lou, so much!

“I really couldn’t of asked for a better on screen mum. You’ve been nothing but a blessing X.”

In a statement issued to confirming his departure last week, Zack said that the show “has quite frankly changed my life for the better” and that he is giving Keegan “some well-earned rest” while he pursues other career opportunities.

The phrase ‘well-earned rest’ makes us think/hope that Keegan won’t be getting killed off and that the door will be open for him to return, but you can never be too sure when soaps are concerned…

In other big EastEnders news, Maisie Smith has been confirmed to be returning for a single episode later this year, reprising her role as Keegan’s ex Tiffany Butcher.
