EastEnders reveals Gray Atkins aftermath as he regains consciousness

He worries over the recent developments in Walford.

EastEnders has revealed what’s ahead for evil Gray Atkins after he regains consciousness next week.

Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) was rushed to hospital this week after a violent showdown with Kheerat Panesar.

While Gray has been in hospital, his wife Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) has begun to enjoy her freedom again now that she doesn’t have to worry about his abusive behaviour.

Next week, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) realises that a breakthrough seems to have been made with Chelsea.

Whitney is relieved when she overhears Chelsea making an excuse to Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) over why she hasn’t visited Gray, who still hasn’t woken after his attack.

Karen then visits Gray in hospital, talking to him about the kids and Whitney as he remains unconscious.

At the mention of Whitney’s name, Gray’s eyes flicker open and he’s confused about what has happened to him.

Later in the week, Chelsea has a fun morning with Mack and Mia, but she worries when Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) informs her that Gray has woken up.

Chelsea tries to play it cool when she reluctantly visits Gray at the hospital, but he senses that she has her confidence back.

Gray is ultimately discharged from hospital and feels frustrated that a bigger deal hasn’t been made over what happened to him.

The villain’s mind turns elsewhere when he sees a newspaper headline about a body being found.

Correctly guessing that Tina Carter’s remains may have been discovered, Gray heads to the café and questions Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) about why the Carters have closed the pub.

Kim and Kathy are little help, but is it only a matter of time before Gray realises the walls are closing in on him?
