EastEnders films Linda Carter’s return in sad funeral scenes

Kellie Bright is back.

EastEnders star Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, has returned to the soap to film new scenes.

In upcoming episodes on the BBC soap, Linda will be seen disrupting Tina Carter’s (Luisa Bradshaw-White) funeral.

The images see Linda still struggling with her alcohol addiction, and having an argument with her daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill).

The funeral scenes are to air later this year, and appear to confirm a fan theory about Tina’s death and Gray Atkins’ (Toby-Alexander Smith) involvement in it.

Earlier this year, Gray attempted to cover his tracks and hid Tina’s body under the Argee Bhajee because he knew the Mosque would be built on top of those grounds.

However, the burial site was disturbed by an explosion. When Gray found out, he had to conceal his panic, in scenes further supporting the theory that he chose the disused building to dispose of Tina’s corpse.

Could Gray finally be caught out over Tina’s death – and those of his other victims.

Kellie’s return to EastEnders comes following her departure last year to take maternity leave.

She and husband Paul Stocker welcomed their third child, baby Rudy, in July last year after undergoing IVF. The couple also have a 10-year-old and a 5-year-old.

“It’s a really special and unique thing. I do feel very lucky I’ve got to experience it again,” Kellie said after Rudy’s birth. “But now, 100%, I feel the family is complete.”

Linda was last seen regularly on EastEnders in September 2021 when the pub landlady left Walford to keep the identity of her baby’s father, Max Branning (Jake Wood), a secret.

She did make a brief appearance during a Christmas storyline when Janine found Linda working in another pub.
