EastEnders’ Bradley Branning gives up fame and looks totally different as a sushi chef

Charlie Clements certainly hasn’t given up on acting, but the former EastEnders star has some serious sushi skills as he vowed to find other ways to pay the bills and support his family

Former EastEnders favourite Charlie Clements has swapped Albert Square for sushi as she showed off his fantastic new career move.

Charlie looks very different from loveable Bradley Branning, who was killed off in the show’s 25 anniversary.

Since then he has had acting work, and starred in Mousetrap in the West End before the pandemic.

But he has always vowed to find ways to pay the bills, and the 34-year-old shared a picture of his sushi skills on Instagram.

Telling fans it was his “other day job” as he posted an incredible platter of the raw fish, he clearly has a love of food as well at acting – and he’s pretty good in the kitchen, too.

He was previously working as a chef in a garden centre as Covid changed the world.

He said he even looked after the store’s plants when the restaurant closed.

Speaking about his career move, Charlie said last year: “It was just a way of me supporting the family.

“At the end of the day the kids and the family come first. I’ve never been afraid of work and never been work shy.”

“At the end of the day the kids and the family come first. I’ve never been afraid of work and never been work shy.

“Acting is always my first love and will always be my career choice but at the end of the day I’ve got bills to pay and a family to support like everyone else.”

Charlie’s last soap appearance came in a special live episode in February 2010.

We’re still not over Bradley’s tragic rooftop death

His character Bradley died after falling from the Queen Vic roof after being chased by a policeman.

In a dramatic chain of events, Bradley discovered Archie Mitchell had raped his girlfriend Stacey and got her pregnant.

Bradley later admitted to killing Archie, though it was actually Stacey, played by Lacey Turner, who killed him.

The couple planned to go on the run, however, while attempting to flee the Square, Bradley climbed on to the Queen Vic roof and accidentally fell to his death leaving Stacey heartbroken.

After leaving the soap, Charlie continued to train as an actor and attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts where he gained a master’s degree.
