Logan is still apprehensive about the upcoming complaint tribunal lodged by Marilyn. He tries to smooth everything over, but Marilyn shoots down any attempt.
Later, Logan crosses paths with Marilyn at the Diner. He’s still eager to try and understand Marilyn’s concerns and asks her to sit down with him. Despite Irene’s encouragement to hear him out, Marilyn digs herself further into her beliefs.
Mac isn’t happy to hear that Logan approached Marilyn when they’d just agreed it was best to stay away. The couple launch into a battle of heated opinions, until eventually Logan apologises, realising how much he has aggravated the situation with Marilyn.
Meanwhile, Marilyn also calls Justin out on not wanting her around, and pushes him into admitting exactly that. He decides to give Marilyn the honesty she keeps asking for and tells her how hard it is to be around her at the moment, especially in his own home. Marilyn finally begins to see what she has been like, which only adds to her vulnerability.
Later, Marilyn goes to the Diner to see Irene. Things get heated quickly and Irene believes Marilyn is acting frantically after grabbing hold of Irene, but she quickly sees the fear in Marilyn’s eyes as she begins to lose the sensation in her legs again.
Elsewhere, Ziggy tries to convince Dean to try surfing in the sea. When they get to the water’s edge, Dean is overcome with fear and no amount of encouragement from Ziggy is going to get him in the surf. Back at home, Dean admits his injuries may be permanent, with the reality of it hitting them both.
The next morning, Logan urges Dean to come and conduct some scans to see if he’s in a position to start hitting the waves again. Dean reluctantly agrees. After an X-ray of his pelvis, Logan is confident Dean is healing well, but stops short of guaranteeing him ever getting on a board again. Dean’s worst fears are quickly being realised.
