Hollyoaks star Kelly Condron reveals which characters she’d bring back to soap

“There would have to be a genuine reason for them all to come back.”

Hollyoaks star Kelly Condron has opened up about which characters she would like to see make another appearance in the hit soap.

Condron made her own comeback on the Channel 4 show last summer, when she returned as Zara Morgan.

She’d originally joined the cast back in 1999 when the Morgans moved into the village but, after a few tumultuous plotlines of her own, the character left Hollyoaks behind in 2005 with her then-boyfriend Lee for a job with a charity in Thailand.

However, Zara made her return in July 2021 after learning of her mother’s death on social media, and has since been an active environmental campaigner who’s currently competing for a seat on the local council with Tony Hutchinson.

Condron spoke to Inside Soap about which other characters she would like to see follow her Zara’s lead and make a reappearance on the show.

“I’d love for Helen [Pearson] to come back because she’s my friend,” she revealed.

Pearson, a prominent figure in the soap world who’s had roles in three major ongoing soaps – Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and EastEnders – played Frankie Osborne on the soap from 2002 to 2017.

“I love the iconic characters too,” Condron went on to add. “Like Mr. C and Finn [aka Rory Finnigan], or there’s Natalie Casey, who played Carol Groves.

“It would be great to have the Morgan siblings back too – but there would have to be a genuine reason for them all to come back.”

Condron is also confirmed to be part of an upcoming hour-long special that will follow her brother Luke Morgan’s joint hen and stag holiday to Mallorca with his wife-to-be Cindy Cunningham.

The episode will air on Monday, June 6 at 7pm on E4 and Wednesday, June 8 at 6pm on Channel 4.

Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
