Emmerdale’s Sandra plots to break up Liv and Vinny in shock storyline

There is trouble on the way for Liv and Vinny in Emmerdale as Liv’s mum Sandra continues to turn the screws to ensure that the loved-up pair do not have a future.

When Sandra sees Vinny and Gabby getting along well, she decides to use it to plant doubts in Liv’s head about their relationship – and she even goes as far as to question Liv’s asexuality.

It seems that the influence Sandra has over Liv is strong as she soon starts to wonder whether her mother was right about Vinny, especially when she too spots him with Gabby.

It seems that the influence Sandra has over Liv is strong as she soon starts to wonder whether her mother was right about Vinny, especially when she too spots him with Gabby.

Knowing that her plan is working, Sandra tells Gabby that the couple are having issues, which leads to Gabby turning up to chat through it with Vinny – only amplifying Liv’s doubts.

Liv is now on edge and starting to spiral, while Sandra relishes in how well her ploy is coming together. But will she be caught out before she does any permanent damage?

We are gearing up for a special time in Emmerdale as the show is celebrating its milestone 50th anniversary later this year.

As part of the celebrations, the show is bringing back three characters, and the village is set to be hit by a deadly storm that will see life in the Dales changed forever.

But one thing that we won’t be seeing is a big live episode of the soap like other soaps have done for big birthdays.

On the subject, executive producer Jane Hudson told Insertions.us: “The problem with live episodes is you are really restricted in the stories you can tell. We know that one of the things our viewers love is the stunts we pull out of the bag, and you can’t do those in a live.

“The other big factor is COVID. If we suddenly have people test positive on the day of the live and we go, ‘Jeff [Hordley] is not available for that big story’, I’m not sure what we would do.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
