Congratulations to the happy couple.
Congratulations are in order for Emmerdale star James Moore who has announced his engagement to his partner Sophie.
The actor, who plays Ryan Stocks on the ITV soap, took to Instagram where he posted a series of pictures of the two of them, her beautiful ring – and their cat – captioning the post “We got engaged!!!! (ft our cat)”.
The cast of the ITV soap lead the well-wishes in the comments, with Amy Walsh writing: “This is the best news! Congratulations to you both” and Lawrence Robb wrote: “Congratulations my boy!!!”
Michelle Hardwick wrote: “Huge congratulations to you both”, Lisa Riley commented: “CONGRATULATIONS to you both what great news” and Ash Palmisciano wrote: “Ahhh no way! This is awesome huge congratulations guys”.
Almost a year ago, James took to Instagram to celebrate the couple’s two-year anniversary.
“We’ve had two amazing, happy, incredible years together. We’ve come so far from where we started. We live together, we have our own little fur baby, and we are stronger than ever.
“I’m so thankful for your support and encouragement and just pure, absolute love that you give me each and every day, and I can’t wait to make some new memories with you in the years to come.
“Happy anniversary, I love you.”
Like his character Ryan, James also has cerebral palsy and previously opened up about the difficulties facing disabled actors in the industry.
On the positives of representation on camera, he said: “It really helps us, as actors, bring the most to our role because we have that experience – and a truth, because we have that experience and we have the knowledge to connect to the characters and to give it a fresh angle.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
