EastEnders spoilers: Phil fights to the death in violent prison battle

The pressure is mounting for Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in EastEnders episodes to be shown soon, as his situation in prison because incredibly dangerous. As the threat of violence becomes a reality with Phil unable – or unwilling – to stop it, could this be the end for Walford’s iconic hard man?

Things begin to turn nasty for Phil when he makes an enemy of another prisoner, Craig, and gets into a huge fight with him. The fight is eventually broken up by the prison guards before someone is killed, but DI Keeble (Alison Newman) later warns Phil that he won’t survive much longer in prison. She repeats her offer that he can have his freedom in return for turning informant and gives him 48 hours to make a final decision.

During that time, Phil gets a sinister warning from Craig – he dies tomorrow. Phil tries to make an arrangement with another prisoner, Ravi, that he’ll back him up in any fight with Craig, but realising he’ll essentially be on his own, Phil starts to make final plans.

He asks Sharon (Letitia Dean) to visit and gives her five letters for her and his family. Sharon realises how much danger Phil must be in, and desperately begs him to take Keeble’s deal. Phil refuses, still determined that he won’t be a grass.

Later on, Phil is suddenly cornered when Craig and his associates surround him.

As Sharon waits anxiously for news, could this really be the end for Phil Mitchell?
