Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) sets off on an adventure with daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill) in EastEnders on Monday (June 6), determined to tell her a few truths about scheming Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).
Janine, as viewers know, sabotaged Nancy and Zack Hudson’s (James Farrar) chances of owning their own restaurant, after she schemed her way into stealing their money.
The manipulator was keen to get Linda out of the Square and away from Mick (Danny Dyer), and thus she offered her £25,000 to leave. Linda wanted double the money, but nonetheless, she agreed to her love rival’s demands.
The landlady, however, reconsidered, deciding to stay in Walford. She took great pleasure in telling Janine such a thing, and ultimately kept the money for herself.
She subsequently invested the money in the salon, but before she could celebrate, Nancy found out that her and Zack’s dream had fallen through.
Linda knew exactly who was to blame, and thus – after some advice from Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) – she came to the conclusion that she would tell Nancy everything.
Monday’s visit to the Square picks up from here, with Linda setting in motion a trip to Watford with her daughter.
Are they intending to leave the Square? Not for good, just for a while. Linda, you see, wants privacy to tell her all about Janine’s scheming.
Things go awry, however, when Nancy gets wind that Linda was contemplating leaving Walford several weeks ago, and she wastes little time in confronting her mum with the discovery while they’re out on the road.
Before Linda gets a chance to explain, Nancy storms off, leaving her mum all alone by the side of the road with baby Annie in tow.
Janine, meanwhile, is relieved when she finds out that Nancy still doesn’t know about her scheming, and after intercepting a call from drunk Linda, she sets off to retrieve the landlady.
But things soon take a horrific turn, as a car crash ensues, leaving both women in a bad way.
EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday June 6 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
