EastEnders is lining up a shock collapse for Amy Mitchell in new story

Amy makes a big mistake in upcoming EastEnders scenes that will air next week when she makes a foolish decision while trying to impress Denzel – winding up in the hospital as a result.

The drama unfolds when the teens head to Denise’s birthday party, and there’s already tension in the air with Lily not happy about the flirting going on between Amy and Denzel.

Lily doesn’t take the jealousy well and when she spots Stuart’s pills fall from his bag. She wastes little time in swiping them all – only for them to be confiscated by Denise.

But Amy is keen to show Denzel that she can be fun, so she pinches a pill herself and takes half, which leads to terror for everyone else when she collapses.

As Amy is taken to the hospital, Martin quizzes Lily on where the pills came from – and he’s sure that Denzel is somehow to blame. While the truth does come out, Jack makes it clear to Amy that he does not want her to see Denzel again, but we have a feeling that she may not listen to him…

Abbie Burke has played the role of Amy Michell since 2014, but she left the role earlier in the year as EastEnders producers started looking at more grown-up storylines for the character.

Ellie Dadd was their choice to be the new Amy, and she made her debut on the BBC One soap in episodes that aired last week.

A Mitchell with a new face is hardly a new thing in EastEnders. We are already up to our fourth Ben, or six if you include the actors who played him as a baby.

Sam has also undergone a face swap too with two actresses sharing that role over the years, and the character recently made a brilliant return played by Kim Medcalf. Plus, even Peggy Mitchell was originally played by a different actress, with Barbara Windsor the second to play the character. Who knew?

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One, with some episodes airing on BBC Two during summer sporting events. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
