Coronation Street to air Imran and Toyah crash flashback after on-screen mystery

What will viewers discover?

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has confirmed that special flashback scenes will air tonight (June 3) following Imran Habeeb’s tragic exit.

Imran was killed off this week after being involved in a dramatic car crash with his wife Toyah.

Unusually, the crash itself did not appear on screen in Imran’s death episodes, leaving fans unsure over the exact details of what had happened.

Viewers saw Imran and Toyah leave the police station together following a dispute over whether to report Abi Webster’s kidnap plan or not. In a subsequent scene, they were both seen unconscious in their car.

In Friday’s episode, extended flashback scenes will fill in the blanks following the on-screen mystery.

Fans will see what took place between Imran and Toyah inside the car following their trip to the police station, with more revealed over the build-up to the crash.

Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah, previously teased these scenes by telling and other media: “We felt like we were doing our own little film for a week. It was Corrie, but it felt different, like an exciting short film.

“We had lengthy scenes driving around Manchester. We were driving past tram stops and had people staring at us, but by the time we’d driven round for the eighth time, they were totally over it!

“Everyone pulled together. There was a lot to do and an ambitious schedule, but we got through it. It felt exciting and a privilege to be a part of.”

Thursday’s Corrie episode saw suspicion over the crash turn to Toyah, after the early theory of sabotage from Kevin Webster was discounted by the police.

The investigators have now started to question whether Toyah deliberately crashed the car by failing to brake during an argument with Imran.

Coronation Street airs at the earlier time of 7.30pm all this week on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
