Coronation Street star Jacqueline Leonard discusses possible permanent return for Linda Hancock

She’s about to make a “flying visit” comeback next week.

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street is bringing back Jacqueline Leonard as young Joseph’s grandmother Linda Hancock next week, as Chesney Brown tries to hide the recent disappearance drama and how much the family are struggling to make ends meet.

She’ll also be hitting on Dev Alahan, which Bernie Winter won’t be too happy to hear about.

While the immediate worry of her return storyline is about whether she will take Joseph away with her, could this plot lead to a permanent return for the character?

While Leonard calls this current return a “flying visit”, she is “absolutely” open to coming back full-time.

“That would be lovely,” she said. “I mean, the nice thing about the character she can come in and out anyway. But if it was a permanent thing, that would be great also. Wait and see (if she sticks around)!”

While teasing whether Joseph will stay on the Cobbles or go back to Portugal, Leonard said that this is “such a lovely storyline”, which does seem to suggest that Joseph won’t leave and the family’s bond will be stronger than ever.

Another big storyline the soap has going on at the moment is Adam Barlow being stalked by a mysterious harasser, which the audience found out in last night’s (February 9) episode was actually his ex Lydia Chambers.

The soap has revealed what is going to happen next with that storyline, as Lydia will plant seeds of doubt in Sarah Platt’s mind on Valentine’s Day.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
