Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) was apoplectic with rage when his car broke down in tonight’s Coronation Street episode.
The whole situation with Stephen and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) was tense and in some places, difficult to watch.
In the morning, Aaron (James Craven) had told Stephen to pick up his car from the garage, forgetting it’s very important to take the vehicle for a test drive after it’s been worked on.
Stephen took the car and drove off and, shortly after, he returned.
The car had broken down on Victoria Street – sadly for Aaron, his repairs hadn’t worked.
An already exhausted Kevin grabbed his toolbox and made his way over to the car, ready to fix it for Stephen.
However, due to the ongoing stress he’s been experiencing with a grumpy Jack (Kyran Bowes), Abi (Sally Carman) coming home and a social worker visit, listening to Stephen rant just tipped Kev over the edge.
Kevin took one look at the jag and started smashing it to pieces, releasing his anger and emotions with every hit.
Fortunately, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) arrived and supported Kevin, but knew Stephen reporting the behaviour to the police could jeopardise Abi’s future in Weatherfield.
Kevin still ended up at the police station and was not prepared to tell Abi the truth when she paid a visit.
That evening, Stephen arrived at the station and told the officer he’s there to make a statement.
But what will he say?
Is he prepared to destroy Abi and Kevin’s future together?
Or will he drop the charges?
