Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) stepped into new territory in Coronation Street tonight.
In true Tim and Sally style, however, it really didn’t go to plan.
As we opened tonight’s episode, Maria (Samia Longchambon) and Gary (Mikey North) had their chat about bins (wow, riveting) interrupted thanks to Barbara.
Barbara approached and asked Maria and Gary if they’re interested in adopting a donkey. Aw!
After quickly handing Barbara some cash and pointing out they live in a flat, Gary and Maria headed off.
As Barbara continued the house rounds, she soon arrived at Tim and Sal’s.
With Sally at the shop getting some chocolate fingers for the sex therapy session (…yep), Tim let Barbara in the house, assuming she was the therapist.
The conversation cleverly developed so Tim and Barbara had no idea of the error, and that Barbara probably assumed Tim was just a bit well…
And then Sally arrived.
‘The sex therapist has arrived!’ she said, probably loud enough for the whole of Weatherfield to hear.
The penny then dropped for Barbara, and she revealed she was absolutely, in no way, a sex therapist.
Just someone working for the Weatherfield donkey sanctuary.
When the real therapist arrived, Tim struggled to take things seriously, but did enjoy a laugh with Sal later that evening as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
What. A. Day.
Poor Barbara from the Donkey sanctuary was certainly taken for a ride…
Shall we go?
