As we saw in the scenes at Imran (Charlie De Melo)’s funeral on Coronation Street, some people are highly suspicious of Toyah (Georgia Taylor)’s part in his death.
His mother Saira (Kim Vithana) was particularly vocal, telling Toyah in an emotional outburst that she was the reason that Imran was dead.
It seems that a bit of time going by will do nothing to change Saira’s opinion when she and Toyah meet up again in upcoming episodes.
The location for the encounter is Victoria Gardens, where a grieving Toyah explains to Saira that she would like to have some of Imran’s ashes so she can keep them at home. Saira tells her she’s already buried the ashes. She’s also angry that Toyah seems to have quickly moved on from Imran as Saira knows all about her ex, Spider (Martin Hancock), being back on the scene.
Toyah has been helping Spider with a plan to occupy the Nuttall’s Brewery building as part of his environmental protest, enjoying the distraction from her grief and the chance to reconnect with Spider again.
Saira seems to be assuming that there’s more going on, but she’s convinced of one thing – in a scathing attack she accuses a shocked Toyah of murdering her son.
