Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) has told DS Swain (Vicky Myers) he thinks Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) killed Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) in Coronation Street.
Following Toyah’s arrest for death by careless driving, Adam supported her and appointed himself as her representative.
During an interview with DS Swain, Toyah was horrified when she watched CCTV footage of the car crash that proved she didn’t make any effort to brake or swerve her car.
Adam has followed the rules when it comes to his job but this week, he hasn’t been able to shake away his thoughts about Toyah’s final moments with Imran.
Tonight, as Adam remained under the impression Toyah was spending time away from Weatherfield, he happily handed Kelly (Millie Gibson) the keys to Toyah’s flat so she could collect a photo of her and Imran.
When Kelly arrived, she found Toyah there.
After a conversation with Toyah, Kelly left the flat and later updated Adam.
To many, hiding away from the world is understandable given the fact Toyah has just lost her husband but for Adam, who also told Sarah (Tina O’Brien) his suspicions, Toyah shutting herself in the flat certainly makes it look as though she doesn’t want the police to find her.
In the station, Adam gave a statement to DS Swain, recalling a moment last week that saw Toyah tell him, Leanne (Jane Danson) and Nick (Ben Price) that if Imran is lying – she’ll kill him.
DS Swain argued that Toyah wasn’t being serious, but Adam thinks it’s evidence of pre-meditation – he thinks Toyah wanted Imran dead.
