But has she made herself too suspicious?
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street’s Toyah Habeeb is finding herself losing allies as her behaviour has caused people to become even more suspicious of her following the crash that took Imran’s life.
In tonight’s (June 8) episode, the news of Toyah doing a runner got people talking, including Adam Barlow, who told Peter that he thought Toyah drove into the wall on purpose. Alya Nazir overheard and told Leanne Battersby.
While you’d expect Leanne to be furious at Adam and Peter, well, she was. But after Peter recalled the whole Eva and Suzie scenario (in which Toyah told some huge lies) to Leanne, she actually confided in Nick Tilsley that she had been wondering if Toyah did crash the car, since her running away has made her look mighty guilty.
“I tried to put it to the back of my mind but… All of this with Abi and Alfie, it was such a massive deal,” she said. “Then she loses Elsie in the middle of it, and Alfie must be a constant reminder of all she’s ever wanted and what Imran did.
“What if she it did it on purpose, to punish Imran or harm herself or both? How can I figure out what’s going on if I don’t even know where she is?”
As the episode ended, viewers got to see where Toyah was hiding out: in the flat at the builder’s yard. And she was sobbing her eyes out. With all of this weighing on her, what will she do next?
Well, we can tell you what will happen next, as certain spoilers from next week’s episodes have already been revealed.
Imran actor Charlie de Melo recently hinted that Toyah is in for a long-running storyline following his character’s death.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
