Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, February 21 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
Coronation Street youngster Joseph Brown asks to move away next week as he wrongly believes that he’s no longer wanted at home.
Joseph (William Flanagan) has been struggling recently as his father Chesney is so distracted by the challenges of raising quadruplets.
In upcoming episodes, the situation at the Winter-Brown house takes a surprising turn after Joseph’s grandmother Linda Hancock (Jacqueline Leonard) returns for a visit.
Linda is keen to help the family after spotting how much Chesney (Sam Aston) seems to be struggling.
During one trip to Number 5, Linda offers to pay for Joseph to attend a children’s activity club.
Joseph is excited and heads off there with Linda, but Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) is unimpressed and confides in Gemma about how she doesn’t like Linda.
Later, when Linda and Joseph return home, Bernie explains that two of the quads have fallen ill.
Linda immediately offers to let Joseph stay with her at her posh hotel.
Going a step further, Linda suggests to Chesney that it might be best if Joseph came to live with her in Portugal permanently. She points out how much the family seem to be struggling with raising five children.
Chesney is livid and kicks Linda out, making it very clear that this is out of the question.
As the row continues outside, Joseph opens the door and Linda asks him outright whether he’d like to move to Portugal with her.
Linda’s actions backfire when Chesney meets up with her later, ordering her to stay away from Joseph from now on.
Back at the house, Chesney and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) chat openly about how they can work harder to ensure Joseph is happy.
Joseph listens from the stairs and misinterprets their conversation, assuming that they don’t want him at Number 5 anymore.
Joseph responds by announcing that he wants to live with Linda. How will Chesney and Gemma react?
