Here’s a full collection of 16 big moments coming up.
- Maria is devastated over a deepfake video
Maria feels embarrassed over a viral video, which has turned her recent public statements into a funny rap. She’s also under fire over everyone’s unemptied bins, as the local refuse collectors are still on strike over the extra workload she gave them.
Later, Maria discovers a second viral video has placed her head on a naked woman, making it look like she was once in a porn film. Maria is shaken by how realistic the deepfake video looks.
- Gary turns violent while defending Maria
Maria starts receiving threats and decides to tell the police what’s going on. She then organises a press conference, refusing to hide away despite the unwanted attention she’s receiving.
During the conference, Maria is heckled by Jimmy, the refuse team leader. Gary becomes convinced that Jimmy is the person who’s anonymously making threats against Maria, so he violently pins him against the wall.
- Maria considers giving up her political career
Maria reaches the end of her tether and decides that her position on the council isn’t worth all the stress, especially with her family being badly affected.
Sally is concerned to hear about Maria’s decision, especially as she has once been in a similar position herself. She tells Maria that she shouldn’t be scared off from her efforts to make a positive difference in the local community.
- Maria’s worries continue
As Liam enjoys a Star Trek-themed birthday party, Gary arranges a family selfie. Gary wants to post it online, but Maria urges him not to as she doesn’t want to face any more abuse.
Gary tells Maria that the trolls are winning by making her feel scared like this.

Simon makes a similar argument, pointing out how the six-figure sum could transform their lives for the better.
Peter meets up with Tricia the nurse, who has previously supported his efforts. Tricia explains that she can’t offer up any new evidence, so Peter starts to consider giving up the fight against Thorne.
- Peter has another showdown with Thorne
Peter waits to hear whether his complaint against Thorne will be upheld. With Thorne clearly feeling nervous, he meets up with Peter and urges him to let this go.
As Thorne heads off in his car, Peter is furious over how the meeting went and angrily confronts him once again.

Peter gets angry with his family when he realises that Simon has fallen for a trick from Mr Thorne. Carla confronts Peter for being so consumed with bitterness.
Later, Peter heads to the police station to pick up a fare and is surprised to discover that his customer is Nicky. As Nicky explains that she was arrested for no reason, Peter bonds with her over their contempt for authority figures who abuse their power.
Peter tells Daniel and Carla about Nicky’s return, but is surprised by what Daniel says in response.

- Spider makes a return
Toyah tries to take her mind off her other concerns, so she arranges a protest against waste incineration. Toyah and her fellow protestors manage to successfully block in the council’s bin wagon on Victoria Street.
Toyah takes the protest a step further than everyone else, leaping into the cab of the bin wagon to make a stand. A man climbs into the cab next to her and Toyah is stunned to realise that it’s her ex-boyfriend Spider Nugent.
